enigma-irritability

ENIGMA-Irritability is a new working group dedicated to improving our understanding of how a broadly based psychiatric symptom, irritability, may relate to brain and genomic changes. This group aims to carry out a meta-analysis of existing MRI data with children, adolescents, and adults with irritability. The main objects of ENIGMA-Irritability include:

  • To create a worldwide network of neuroimaging centers focused on understanding mechanisms of irritability
  • To collect summary statistics on brain shape, brain volume, white matter and functional connectivity from thousands of people with irritability
  • To identify structural differences that occur in children, adolescents, and adults in brain shape, brain volume and connectivity and explore the relation between these measures and genomic changes
  • To develop collaborations and infrastructure for future analyses

We will examine irritability as it relates to brain structure (e.g., volumes of regions) and brain structural connectivity (e.g., white matter integrity) and its relationship to genomics. This dataset could also have the potential to examine age-related effects of irritability by combining across datasets.

We are happy to welcome new cohorts at any time!
